| 9 |
Computers
|
| 10 |
My main computer is a |
| 11 | soon-to-be-librebooted |
| 12 | ThinkPad X200. This is the machine I use the most in or out the |
| 13 | house. I also own and occasionally use a Dell XPS 15 more as a |
| 14 | “Desktop”, and a ThinkPad X220T tablet I use when reading |
| 15 | (and annotating) research papers.
|
| 16 | |
| 17 |
I also have the privilege of having access to a fleet of beefy |
| 18 | servers through our school's |
| 19 | Computer Science Club, |
| 20 | which I use for some heavier computations every now and |
| 21 | again.
|
| 22 | |
| 23 |
GNU/Linux distros
|
| 24 |
I've used a large number of GNU/Linux distributions throughout the |
| 25 | years, but as of late, my favourite distros are |
| 26 | Trisquel, |
| 27 | Guix System, and |
| 28 | Debian (with no
contrib
or |
| 29 |
non-free
). I mostly use the |
| 30 | GNU Linux-libre kernel. |
| 31 | Guix System comes with GNU Linux-libre out of the box, and on |
| 32 | Debian-based distros I install it from jxself's |
| 33 | APT repository.
|
| 34 | |
| 35 |
Actual computing
|
| 36 |
I spend most of my time in |
| 37 | GNU Emacs.
|
| 38 |
TODO: elaborate
|
| 39 | |
| 40 |
Cell phone
|
| 41 |
I have an old Nexus 5 I reluctantly use from time to time. It runs |
| 42 | LineageOS+microG without GApps. Sadly it still requires some blobs |
| 43 | for functioning. I can't wait for lxo's |
| 44 | 0G to become a |
| 45 | reality fast enough. |
